So here I am. Minding my own business. Surfing Godtube. I come across a video with my good friend, Bart Millard. In the video he is joking about the fact that mercyme and casting crowns are mistaken for each other often and he's right. He gets thanked often for writing If We are the Body and I'm thanked for I Can Only Imagine quite often. And then it happened...
Bart says " we're both chubby singers and that probably doesn't help."
Chubby
The word echoes in my mind even now. I thought, "he just called he chubby... Well mark, you are chubby... Yeah but still!"
Chubby
So this is what it has come to my friends. I challenge Bart Millard to a weightloss battle to the death... The death of chubbiness, that is. :)
Those of you in blog world, I encourage you to pass the news of this challenge on. Get word to him! If Bart accepts this challenge, we will weigh in and begin. Then at GMA week (dove awards week) we will see who has lost the most weight.
I will post my formal challenge in a video, tommorrow night!
On to Victory and the death of Chubbiness
Mark
Thats cool, I be waiting to hear from the challenger.....

Best of Luck. Maybe if you blog about your progress, etc you might inspire some of us to shed our chubbiness also!
BTW have you seen Mac Powell's video on K-Love's website taking calls? Mistaken fan strikes again! ;-)

I think you should take this one step further! How many of us fans can no longer "jump" at the shows because the "chubbiness" is keeping us on the ground! OPEN IT UP! All who are in the business and are going to be present GMA week (I write for www.inReview.net so I will be there) Get with the American Diabetic Association to set up an "official" weight station. (And do education on how obesity leads to diabetes) I think its a great wake up & get healthy challenge for all of us who are supposed to be The Body!!

Two words gentlemen: Jenny Craig. I've lost 40 pounds on their program. I think it'd be extremely easy, probably THE easiest way to lose weight on the road (and at home).
All you have to do is pop a delicious, pre-packaged meal into the microwave three times a day, add some fruits and veggies, and be sure to eat all your snacks each day (because you won't lose if you don't eat all your food. Weird, but true.) Oh, and be sure to take a nice walk everyday, or get some other kind of exercise.
It's extremely easy, and did I mention their food is delicious? They have centres all over the country, so you could pick up food anywhere you are.
And maybe you can get the Jenny Craig people into it and they will sponsor the whole thing, give you guys free food, and put MM & CC in their ads. See? Weight loss and marketing, all in one nice, thin package.
Check it out here: www.JennyCraig.com
(Now it sounds like spam. Sorry about that. Just trying to help. :) )

Yeah, Mark, I can just see GMA week.
Stranger: Hey, Mac Powell! Thanks for writing "Cry Out to Jesus."
Mark: I'm not Mac, I'm Mark.
Stranger: Oh, yeah, Mark Lee. Awesome guitar solo last night.
Mark: No, I'm Mark Hall from Casting Crowns.
Etc.
Go for it, man!

Just found your blog. I watched your "slow fade" video on you tube. I was thinking you guys looked somewhat like Third Day.
Take care,
Amy

Hey Mark.
I'm 14 and in high school, and in my chorus class we're supposed to do a project on our favorite musician, and i picked you, because your songs are a real help when i'm feeling all alone or unloved. some of the information i need to give my teacher is who your parents are, what awards you've won, and where you were born. is there a site i can go to that maybe has all of these? or do you think you can e-mail them to me? if you could, it would be a real help, because i can't find much information about you on the internet using search engines. you e-mail me at gunstorm05@aol.com, and i made sure i spelled that right.
Thanks for all you and the band do, keep it up!
sorry, i had just found the other blog i posted this in, and when i looked around the site, i found the newest one, so i'll post it here.

If the chubby is going down, make it fun with the wii fit! I'd love to get one for my family of 7 but they're pricey. Have fun!

Wait.. Wait.. STOP!!!
Yes.. I'm constantly asked by Hubby.. is this Mercy Me? are they your favorite.. Hey.. is this Third Day ( yes.. even Third Day).. or is this Casting Crowns...
I realize weight does NOT define a person.. and I realise weight truly is not GOOD for a person.. as we are to keep our temples healthy... BUT..
I am a mom with an overweight child.. and it breaks my heart.. He doesn't eat more than any of his friends.. he plays sports.. is active.. does the Wii fit.. yet is still bigger than his friends...
However... he has been BLESSED.. BLESSED with a voice to sing.. and the ability to act.. and be theatrical.. HOWEVER.. because of his age.. and size.. he is picked on.. CONSTANTLY.. because society ( kids) believe that if you are overweight.. you are an UNDER achiever...
I look at Bart Millard and praise God that He made him the way he is.. because he is a shining example to my son.. that even "overweight" people can be given gifts.. and that they should use them...
Because of his constant put-downs.. he has refused to do chorus.. and has refused to do plays.. he is hiding his talents.. and from a mother's view.. it breaks my heart...
He's called "Big Poppy" in the baseball world of little league..
I would be honored if he was called either one of you.. in the Music World..
God has given him an AMAZING talent.. and the world is taking it away from him.. one day at a time..because he's not perfect...
Ok.. with ALL that being said.. I do wish you both the best ... on your journey!!
