"I follow close behind You; Your strong right hand holds me securely." Psalm 63:8 (NLT)
We may not know where God is leading us, but if we stay close behind, following His lead, He will guide us to where He desires us to be.
If you have ever played the game 'Follow the Leader', you know you have to follow the person in front of you to get to your destination safely. One step away from the leader, makes you going your own way. Which can cause destruction and pain, because by going your own way, you don't have a leader guiding you and protecting you from the detours and potholes in the road.
The pleasures of this world distract our eyes from the path God is leading us on. Watch what your eyes see. Guard your eyes from seeing this world in a way that takes you off the path and away from God's perfect plan.
During our walk, run, or sprint through this journey God is leading us on, He will never leave us. His strong hand is holding us.
"I AM holding you by your hand - I, the Lord your God. And I say to you, 'Do not be afraid. I AM here to help you.'" Isaiah 41:13 (NLT)
Follow close behind Jesus. Don't let Him out of your sight. He knows the way, just trust in Him.

You did hit the nail on the head. I am guilty of keeping the Lord as plan b.
I had been so on 'fire' for the Lord years ago, and I don't where or when, but just got so caught up in this temporary life that I took my eyes off of Him and have only been seeing the now, the temporary and not the unseen, the eternal with Him.
Thank God, he is merciful, and forgiving.
I kind a feel like the prodigal daughter.
Thank you for doing this.
I know I can get back on track.

Hey Mark -
God used your analogy of the cup with holes in it in a couple of ways. As I'm going through another Biblestudy called "No Other Gods" it makes me see more clearly that these things/people we look to to complete us/fill us/satisfy us can truly never fill, it always comes up empty and it can be a constant drain emotionally. Only God satisfies that thirst. Also, I can pour myself into things (with holes) that don't really matter, but pouring the love of Jesus into the lives of others has no holes and is eternal.
Thanks for what you're doing.

This stuff is so great Mark. I need to realize that our world is just full of "temporary pleasures" that just ends up nowhere good fast. It is like the things of this world is saltwater. It might quench our thirst for a second, but too much of it will kill you from dehydration. Thanks a ton for the challenges... They are really helping!

WOW!! Your video today Mark, is just one great example how God can use people to speak to other believers. This video really spoke to me as I have been struggling lately. I feel like God is far away, but as it says in James 4:8 "Come near to God and he will come near to you."
Thank you for pouring out your heart for God on those around you, because it is truly a blessing. God bless

Loved where you refered to 'using' God as just a 911 call. Last resort, emergency only type thing.

Hey Marky Mark Hall! Thanks so much for obeying God in this Crowns Camp. I confess that last wk was the craziest wk and of course, I fell flat on my face in my "retreat week". You know it seems like I was so "needed" by others last wk that I couldn't take out my time with Jesus when HE needed me. Wow! Anywho, I started Crowns' Camp today and in the past 30 min. God has done so much! It never fails that when I sit down and dive into God's word that He gives me a sermon or a song. He's soooo like that, u know! I haven't written a poem in soooo many years, much less a song, but God gave me a song from the John 4 scripture that i've read a million times and have even taught from. It's called "My Thirst"!!! Yeah, can u believe it! I'm so excited. I recorded it on my phone and let Trey hear. He's gonna help me put music to it! He's good like that....lol Anywho, thanks for obeying God so it would help me draw closer. I miss being close to him like I was at a younger age when HE WAS my day... now, with a husband, child and ministry all that changes....well, i'll go! sorry for the novel...

I was looking up the words for "Fill My Cup and found this storu about the man who wrote it and the stroy behind is cool so I am posting it here - it is short. Thanks Mark for the "Camp" Glad it is open to all - young and old. I am Praising God that this resource is out there for the young people! Cool - God is so Good and He is GOOD all the time!
Life was never to be a bed of roses for Richard Blanchard.
A severe lung problem developed, and Blanchard was left with one-third of his lung capacity. But a diminished physical well-being did not stop young Blanchard.
In 1953, he became the pastor of a church in Coral Gables, Florida, and one day, was asked by a young couple to perform their marriage ceremony. However, the couple was quite late for their counseling appointment.
Blanchard told his secretary, I will wait for thirty minutes and I’m leaving. He then went to a nearby Sunday school room and sat down to play the piano for a while.
He later said, When I was not in the mood to be used of God, God was in a mood to use me. In less than thirty-minutes, as he waited for the young couple, God gave him the inspiring song Fill My Cup, Lord.
As Richard Blanchard looks back over his life, he declares even though God chose in his providence to impair my physical being, he has in so many other ways ‘Fill’d My Cup.’

I know this is out of the ordinary, but do you do weddings? My daughter Emily Alvey was in your youth group at Center Hill Baptist. She just loved you! You made a big impact on her. She is now 22 and she is planning to get married October 15, 2010. I know this is a long shot but I thought I would at least ask. Me, my husband, Emily and Tony, the groom to be, were all at your Christmas concert this past year. It was fantastic. Your music has touched all of our lives in so many ways. Several songs of yours got me through my recent cancer treatment. I am doing great...Praise God. He really worked in my life in a big way. Thank you for your dedication to the Lord. You are really making a difference.
